This black commemorative plaque records: Louise Carnegie Gates. These Category A listed gates were funded by the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust and dedicated in 1929 as a tribute to Andrew Carnegie's widow. Several houses and shops were taken down to create this new entrance to Pittencrieff Park and give a clear view to the Carnegie statue.
Louise Carnegie Gates commemorate Louise Whitfield Carnegie, widow of Andrew Carnegie; these gates, funded by the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust in 1929, serve as a tribute to her and enhance access to Pittencrieff Park.
