What is recorded here
Beyazıt Tower rises eighty-five metres above Istanbul, but the Edinburgh marker points to a different kind of height. A lookout tower anywhere is a room set atop a pillar, forcing a human eye to carry what camera and algorithm discard. Smoke, lightning, weather and distance become visible when a person remains present long enough to recognise them. The tower turns observation into responsibility.
