Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Lonsdale (UKHO 12061) as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Lonsdale* was a 19th-century British steamship that wrecked off the coast of Wales in 1865 after striking a reef during a storm. The vessel carried general cargo and, although the crew was rescued, the ship was lost; its wreck is now a protected historic site and of significance to maritime archaeology in Wales.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
