Loch Fyne

Castle (medieval)(possible)

What is recorded here

Loch Fyne is the longest sea loch in Scotland, stretching sixty-five kilometres inland from the Sound of Bute through Argyll and Bute. During the Second World War, its shores became a massive training ground where a quarter million people learned to storm beaches before the great invasions. That hidden military purpose turned a quiet western waterway into a nursery for global warfare, leaving behind a caravan park and a memory of steel wheels on sand.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Loch Fyne as Castle (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
