Loch Flemington holds a possible prehistoric crannog, a wooden island built by human hands before written history. The water may have hidden a home, a shrine or a trap for drowning men. No bridge remains, no doorframe pokes through the surface, and the loch keeps its secret intact.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Loch Flemington, 'castle' as Crannog (prehistoric)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
