What is recorded here

Loch Bradan is a medieval castle in South Ayrshire, Scotland, preserved in the national historic record. Its exact position is known to the nearest metre, yet the name still evokes a forgotten chamber where human hands shaped stone before memory faded. The castle may have served as a watchtower, a home or a boundary marker for a local family. Whatever it did, it stood at the edge of human knowledge, recording itself only in the quiet language of ruins.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Loch Bradan as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
