Built during the Medieval period, Llys Gwenllian Castle was a motte-and-bailey structure associated with the Welsh prince Gwenllian of the House of Dinefwr. It is remembered as a symbol of Welsh resistance during the Norman invasion of Wales in the 11th and 12th centuries.
