Littledean Tower rose above a busy Tweed ford in the 15th century, serving the Kers of Littledean and marking a crossing others could not ignore. Tradition claims a covetous old lady haunted the house until a kind servant dried her wet shoes, unlocking the hidden gold and setting her restless spirit free. The tower has fallen into ruin, but that much-needed ford and the generous ghost still give the place life.
