What is recorded here

Lissabrollaun is a broken fairy fort on Checker Hill, Galway, where a faint earthen bank still curves around a grassy hollow. Neary wrote in 1914 that a stone-reinforced outer bank once ravelled the edge, though no trace of it remains visible. The boundary cuts through the ring at both ends, as if the hill itself refused to hold the shape complete. A second ringfort waits two hundred seventy metres to the southeast, suggesting this was never a lonely occupation but a small cluster of lives arranged along the slope.

On NW-facing slope of Checker Hill in grassland. Very poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 30m, E-W 27m) defined by an earthen bank from NE to SE; elsewhere a degraded scarp forms the enclosing element. The td. boundary cuts the monument at NW and NE. Neary (1914, 119, no. 19) noted a 'ravelled' outer bank reinforced with stone. No visible surface trace of it survives.
