Lillian Bilocca was a Hull-based trawler safety campaigner who, after the 1968 Triple Trawler Disaster that killed 58 men, founded and led the Hessle Road Women's Committee. Her swift action and advocacy were instrumental in forcing new shipping laws that significantly improved maritime safety and saved countless lives.
