Lennox Castle rose in Gothic Revival grandeur for John Lennox Kincaid between 1837 and 1841, its turrets and halls built to impress Scotland’s elite on a 1,200-acre estate. By 1927 Glasgow Corporation had taken it over, turning marble chambers into wards where thousands lived under harsh institutional care until 2002. Now the wind moves through empty corridors where glittering balls once danced, and shadowy figures may still drift among the ivy-clad ruins.
