What is recorded here

Leicester's Building is Kenilworth Castle, a ruined red sandstone fortress in Warwickshire where the Earl of Leicester expanded medieval defenses into a fashionable Renaissance palace. John of Gaunt had earlier transformed the stronghold into a perpendicular palace, yet Parliamentary forces destroyed much of that grandeur in 1649. The surviving waterside walls still suggest the scale of a lake-fortress that resisted siege and hosted royal spectacle across five centuries.
Leicester's Building is shown as a castle on the public map of Warwick. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
