Late prehistoric enclosed settlement on Castle Hill, 550m north of Broadstone Lodge

Castle Hill rises fifty-five metres above the valley floor, its summit marked by a late prehistoric enclosure that has watched Kirklees since before records began. The earthworks still trace the shape of human hands, though no wall or gate remains visible. Broadstone Lodge sits five hundred metres south, a modern anchor for an older place. What lived inside the circle is lost, but the circle itself refuses to be forgotten.
