What is recorded here

Ballynahatty in County Down holds a large ritual enclosure and mixed Neolithic burials, including a cist and cremation remains. The land was marked for ceremony and death, not casual use. People may have gathered there to honour the dead, shape memory and bind the community to the earth. What is certain is that the area was set apart for ritual and burial long before written records.
