Larg stands in Dumfries and Galloway as a medieval tower house belonging to Mackie of Larg, the principal family of Clan Mackie. Tradition claims a Mackie once shot two ravens on a distant tree with one arrow before Robert II, earning the pierced ravens now painted on the clan shield. The family later moved into Ulster and took lands near Castle Douglas, yet the tower remains tied to that borderland moment when fire-named Mackie made archery into heritage.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Larg as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
