Lamington, St Ninian's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Lamington, St Ninian's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Ninian's Well is associated with St Ninian, an early Christian saint linked to the conversion of the Picts in southern Scotland. Holy wells dedicated to him were often visited for healing, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and were sometimes marked by local traditions of pilgrimage and offerings.
