What is recorded here

Inch Talla is a narrow island in the Lake of Menteith where Talla Castle still stands beside a small isle called Dog Isle and a place called Kennels. The names suggest a household that kept dogs, perhaps for hunting or guarding, and the lake may have carried their commands as much as their feet. Water keeps what stone forgets, but the isle still shows the shape of that forgotten service.
