Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Laga as Clearance Cairn (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Clearance cairn, post-Medieval period. These cairns mark areas where stone was cleared from fields for agriculture and are significant in understanding rural land use and settlement patterns in Scotland.
