What is recorded here

Ladys Well sits in County Kildare, a small water feature possibly born in the pleasure gardens of St. Legers Castle rather than antiquity. It escaped the 1837 map, hiding in plain sight among hedge and lawn. People may have dipped cups into it during festivals or simply watched rain fill its bowl. The well remains a quiet gift from a forgotten garden, waiting for hands to remember its name.

Not marked on the 1837 OS 6-inch map and possibly not an antiquity. It may have been part of former ornamental pleasure gardens attached to St. Legers Castle (KD037-011----). Date of upload: 15 September 2016
