What is recorded here

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Lady Isle: Scarinish Harbour, Tiree, Passage of Tiree as Puffer (20th Century)-(1956), Steamship (20th Century)-(1956). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Lady Isle* was a steam puffer built in 1906 and registered in Scotland, primarily used for carrying cargo and passengers along the west coast of Scotland. It was lost in 1956 in the Sound of Tiree during a storm, resulting in the deaths of all seven crew members; the wreck remains a notable example of early 20th-century coastal transport in Scottish waters.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
