This black commemorative plaque records: The poppies above mark that this close gave access to the Lady Haig's poppy factory from 1931 to 1965. The factory continues with its work today from Warriston Road, Edinburgh.
Lady Haig's poppy factory was established by Lady Vera Haig in memory of her husband Field Marshal Douglas Haig to provide employment for veterans and their dependents; it continues to produce poppies for remembrance purposes.
A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
