This green commemorative plaque records: Lady Exeter's Almshouses. The will of Gertrude, Marchioness of Exeter in 1557 called for the building of six houses for the poor. Established on this site 1560; demolished 1960 Recorded plaque organisation: Wimborne Minster Town Council.
