Knock Castle stands in ruin on the buried heart of Dun Horavaig, an Iron Age fort swallowed by later stone. Its thick walls, still rising thirty feet above the grass, likely served Donald Gorm of Sleat before the clan stopped calling it home. The castle may have been stripped for bricks to build the house of Knock, leaving behind a courtyard ghost where bonds were once signed and chiefs acknowledged.
