Knappoge Castle stands in County Clare as a ruined tower house, its stones worn smooth by centuries of rain and wind. The structure likely served as a defensive stronghold for local families during turbulent medieval periods, offering refuge and control over surrounding land. Its quiet decay suggests rooms where lanterns once flickered and warnings echoed through narrow stairs, now surrendered to moss and memory.

Knappoge Castle, also known as Knopoge, was built in the 16th century by the MacNamara clan, who were prominent Gaelic lords in the Clare region. It is remembered as a significant example of a tower house and reflects the defensive architecture and social structure of early modern Ireland.
