What is recorded here

Kirkwood is a medieval tower house in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, recorded at a point accurate only to the nearest hundred metres. Its exact chamber, doorway and roof have not survived in the description, but the name still points to a small defiant building among older land. Perhaps it watched roads, resisted storms or hid people when danger passed; that much is not known.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kirkwood as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
