What is recorded here

Kilmory Castle is a large 19th-century house south of Lochgilphead, now the Argyll and Bute Council headquarters, with public gardens on the old estate. Sir John Orde transformed the modest Campbell house into a grand Gothic mansion around 1830, adding an octagonal tower, a coach entrance, and a Chinese drawing room fitted from China. He also experimented with foreign cattle and failed alpaca herds, while the family kept the estate until 1938.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kilmory Castle as Standing Stone (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
