Dean Castle Lodge stands on Dean Road in Kilmarnock as the gate lodge for Dean Castle Estate. Its exact position is known within one metre, yet no date or builder has been attached to it. It may have marked the entrance to gardens, fields or private roads now changed beyond recognition. The lodge still holds that threshold between the estate and the ordinary street.
