St Machar's Chapel and Well at Kildrummy is associated with St Machar, a 6th-century Pictish saint and bishop, traditionally credited with converting the Picts to Christianity. The holy well was likely used for ritual purification or healing, with such sites often believed to have curative properties linked to saintly intercession.
