St Fillan's Well is associated with St Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and saint known for his healing miracles and connection to several holy sites in Scotland. The well was traditionally visited for its curative properties, particularly for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was likely a site of pilgrimage and ritual cleansing.
