What is recorded here

Kemp's Castle is a prehistoric cord rig in the Scottish Borders, marked on the official map within ten metres. The land may have worn strange shapes before human hands shaped them, or perhaps people read those shapes into meaning and built memory around them. Either way the place holds more than stone; it holds the chance that imagination and observation met there long before records existed.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kemp's Castle as Cord Rig (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
