Muddy hands built Kelsborrow promontory fort during the Iron Age, shaping Castle Hill into a knife-edged trap where Cheshire families could watch, resist or reclaim their land. It stands 300 metres south-west of Castle Hill Farm, preserved as a scheduled monument because that much muscle and intention still show through the ground.
