Kelly Castle in Angus is a massive red rubble tower house that still stands as a living home. It served the Elliot family from the fourteenth to seventeenth centuries before falling into ruin and returning through a mid-nineteenth-century restoration. The building keeps sharp gunloops, angle turrets and a courtyard, while hidden original fabric still waits beneath its restored skin.
