What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Jumbo as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Jumbo was a steamship that sank in 1865 near the Isle of Wight after colliding with the paddle steamer Royal William. The wreck resulted in the loss of 21 lives and was notable for being one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in the Isle of Wight's history.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
