This black commemorative plaque records: Joseph Thomas M.Inst. CE (1838-1901) designed the connection of the Looe & Caradon Railway with the GWR at Liskeard via a junction at Coombe. Opened 15th May 1901 Recorded plaque organisation: Looe Old Cornwall Society.
Joseph Thomas was a civil engineer who significantly contributed to Cornwall’s railway infrastructure by designing the link between the Looe & Caradon Railway and the Great Western Railway, enhancing regional connectivity before his death in the year of its completion.
