This blue commemorative plaque records: On this site stood the building in which the original Worcestershire Sauce was manufactured by Messrs Lea & Perrins who entered into partnership on the premises 1st January 1823
John Wheeley Lea and William Henry Perrins were British businessmen who founded Lea & Perrins in 1823, becoming renowned for their Worcestershire Sauce, which has become a globally recognized condiment.
