John Watters is a memorial in County Louth, Ireland. Perhaps he walked home that June evening, unaware the street had become a killing field. Maybe his young blood still warms the soil where the bullets stopped him. Imagine his mother pressing her lips to the cold stone, asking Jesus for mercy she could not receive in life.
Pray for the repose of the soul of John Watters, taken from home and shot dead 18th June 1921. Aged 23 years. R.I.P. My Jesus Mercy.
