This black commemorative plaque records: Egyptian House. Designed in the Egyptian style following the popularisation of Egyptian architecture after the Napoleonic campaigns. One of only two examples in the country. John Foulston 1823
John Foulston designed the Egyptian House in 1823, one of only two such examples in Britain, reflecting the architectural influence of Egyptomania following Napoleon's campaign in Egypt.
