Joan Trimble

Joan Trimble was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, on 18 June 1915, inside a household where music was as ordinary as breathing. Her mother played violin, her father sang bass and collected folk songs, and all eleven children learned at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Joan and her sister Valerie turned that early training into a piano duo, carrying Fermanagh voice into Dublin, London and wider performance life.
