Sir Jesse Boot was a British pharmacist and businessman who significantly contributed to public infrastructure; Alice, Countess of Athlone, played an important role in royal ceremonial events, opening the King Edward VII Gateway donated by Sir Jesse Boot to the citizens of Windsor in January 1921.
