Jan O'Sullivan

Jan O'Sullivan, born Janice Gale in 1950 in Clonlara, County Clare, is a former Irish Labour Party politician who served as Minister for Education and Skills from 2014 to 2016. She represented Limerick City and Limerick East as a Teachta Dála from 1998 to 2020, having previously joined the Democratic Socialist Party in 1982. Her political career began after she helped run Limerick's family planning clinic in the late 1970s, a time when such services remained deeply controversial in Ireland.
