This brown commemorative plaque records: White Hart Originally a fine late Tudor house. The artist Sir James Thornhill 1675-1734 was reputedly born here.
James Thornhill was an eminent English painter, best known for his frescoes in the Painted Hall at Greenwich Hospital, which depict naval victories and the Stuart dynasty, making him a significant figure in British Baroque art.
