This brown commemorative plaque records: By this plaque the Emsworth Maritime and Historical Trust commemorates James Duncan Foster (1858-1940). A notable Emsworth shipbuilder and shipowner. His best known ship was the Emsworth built 'Echo', shown at the head of this plaque and in model form in Emsworth Museum.
