James Brindley Nicolson blue plaque

This blue commemorative plaque records: This was the family home of Wing Commander James Nicolson VC, DFC who, during an engagement with the enemy near Southampton in 1940, was wounded and when about to abandon his aircraft, hit by cannon shells and on fire, he sighted and shot down an enemy fighter aircraft and as a result of staying in his burning plane suffered burns to face, neck, hands and legs. 1917 - 1945 Recorded plaque organisation: Shoreham Society.
