What is recorded here

Crannog islands are ancient human islands, built or chosen in shallow water and lived upon when land was crowded or danger was near. If this is one, then Meenagleragh held a small defiant world: a garden, a fire, a boat ladder, and people watching the rain move across open water. The name is uncertain, but the form is not. That uncertainty is not a flaw, it is an invitation to imagine the island before it disappeared under reeds and memory.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
