What is recorded here

Knockarevan holds a small island or crannog dated to the early Christian period. Water surrounded the site, forcing everyone to build upward or leave empty space behind. The distinction between natural island and made island still blunts, but the choice to occupy wet ground stands clear.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
