ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG in Drumbulcan; Rahall

ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG

What is recorded here

Crannog or island, the distinction barely matters when water owns the land. In Drumbulcan, Rahall, a small patch of earth rose above the lake like a forgotten thought. People may have stood there, watching rain strike the surface or waiting for boats that never came. The lake kept the shape longer than memory did.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND, possibly CRANNOG. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
