What is recorded here

Crannog islands are ancient Irish lake dwellings, and this is likely one. The name Derrynacrannog literally means field of the crannog, preserving the memory of a wooden island home built among reeds and water. People may have lived there, fished, and watched storms pass before the lake claimed the timbers back.
