This green commemorative plaque records: Railway Station Built in 1848, a rare complete example of the small Gothic station style designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Opened in 1857 in broad gauge. Converted to standard gauge 1874. Goods Yard and Signal Box demolished 1966 to form a car park. Recorded plaque organisation: Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel was a pioneering British engineer who designed numerous famous structures including the Great Western Railway; Bradford-on-Avon railway station stands as one of his rare surviving Gothic-style small stations, showcasing his influence on Victorian architecture and engineering.
