Castlepark Community Church stands in Irvine as a late 20th Century building, young enough that its stones still remember the hands which laid them rather than centuries of forgotten prayers. It belongs to the living town, not a dead kingdom, and its circle marks a place where ordinary people gathered after darker ages had stopped. The church may have been built to give a new neighbourhood a heart, a reason to meet when no ancient ruin could be invented.
