Iron Duke

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Iron Duke as Wreck from the Ôl-ganoloesol period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The *Iron Duke* was a British steamship lost in 1893 after running aground on rocks near Porthcawl, Wales, during a storm. The wreck resulted in the loss of several crew members and part of its cargo; it remains a notable maritime casualty of the late 19th century in Welsh waters.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
